Heinrich Gross

Heinrich Gross, médico y psiquiatra austriaco, fue acusado de asesinar a niños disminuidos bajo el régimen nazi, como uno de los ejecutores del Programa Eutanasia. Fue absuelto por falta de pruebas en 1950. Su proceso se suspendió en 2000 porque padecía demencia. Falleció el 15 de diciembre.

Just when you thought all of the horrors of the holocaust were exposed, in 2002 the brains of over seven hundred children were finally given a proper burial in Vienna. As it turns out, the brains came from handi-capped children unwittingly involved in an unbelievable Nazi experiment to determine the cause of deformities and stop them at the source. Where?s Indiana Jones when you need him? Acclaimed documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger flew to Vienna in 2002 to document the massive burial and do some investigating into what is one of the most disturbing stories to come from the holocaust.

In the National Socialist system, medicine took on a new task: the "weeding out" of people designated as "inferior." There was no room in the performance-orientated Volksgemeinschaft (people’s community) for the handicapped, the mentally sick, for members of social fringe groups, and nonconformists. They were persecuted, imprisoned, and abandoned to annihilation.
